DAF555 ◊ 2005-12-04 19:52	It´s a Rekord L (A) you can see the extra trim on some of the pictures. The L was introduced later than the standard version so it was available as 1964 and 1965 models. Twenty years ago I had one exactly like this, a 1965 black Rekord L, but it was in slightly better condition than this one...

sixcyl ◊ 2005-12-08 13:36	In fact the 700 has been quite a good success for BMW almost in Germany but also in other countries of Europe with about 180 000 cars produced (Limousine,coupé,cabrio) , a model which helped BMW to recover a better "financial health" for the decade coming, with the success of the future range 1600/2000. In any case, it will be our third 700 on the site and our first 700 Limousine

I'm working on scale model of it now, so I know of what I'm saying
fuochi ◊ 2021-05-14 17:51	It is also probable that the car is the Rekord A 2600 L, because Omar Sharif was saying to Belmondo that he was driving at 170 km/h (in the film it is also possible to see the Fiat speedometer at 170), and the only Rekord A that can go near to that speed is the 2600 L with the six cylinders engine. However I have not found a confirmation of that in the pictures of the film.
