Born in Washington, DC in 1940, I finished high school in Bethesda, MD a suburb of DC. After college, I entered the Air Force in 1962 and spent 21 years literally seeing the world - Europe, Japan, Vietnam and Idaho, Mississippi, New York, Virginia (Pentagon), Hawaii, & Nebraska. Worked various industry telecommications and logistics Quality Assurance jobs until retirement in 1996 - now live in Rockville, MD a farther out suburb of DC. Have always had an interest in sports and performance cars - my Dad had a 1950 Buick with Dynaslush and a 1955 Chevy six with Powerslide when I started driving - so had to look ahead to something better! My cars have been a 1953 Chevy hardtop coupe (stick) that I got from my brother when he bought a '59 Corvette upon college graduation, 1961 Pontiac Tempest (with rear transaxle & "bent" driveshaft), a 1959? MGA Twin-Cam which had a propensity to drop valves, so next came a 1963 MGB, 1965 Volvo 544 (which I put a 135 hp factory kit for 1965-68 in Germany & saw many F1 & Endurance races at Nürburgring, Spa, Zandvoört, Hockenheim, Monza, Reims, Rouen, + local airport races and hillclimbs), 1971 Porsche 911E Targa (reward for Vietnam tour), 197? VW Thing (Hawaii), 1980 Dodge Colt (aka Mitsubishi Mirage), 1987 Honda Civic Si Hatchback, & currently 2003 Subaru WRX Sportwagen. I now like to attend vintage sports car races and over the last 5 years have been to Watkins Glen (many times), Daytona, Road America, Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio, and last year the Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca.
