![]() 1976 made-for-TV historical drama about the infamous kidnapping and suspected murder of Charles Lindbergh Jr, infant son of the legendary pilot. A German immigrant by the name of Bruno Hauptmann was accused of the crime and details such as the marks on a ladder matching those left by his tools, a piece of wood matching to the ladder and part of his attic, and his hand-writing matched those found on the ransom notes. Owing to appearing to have committed kidnapping and infanticide, he was found guilty by an jury, sentenced to death, and ultimately executed via electric chair in 1936. Though the evidence against him was strong, it was circumstantial which some believe that it may have mistakenly lead to a guilty verdict and that Bruno was actually innocent.
