Not only did it make the E30 3-Series so popular in Indonesia. The movie's success continued in the 1990s that it spawned a succesful series with 5 movies every year from 1987 to 1991 and even a remake in 2016. Even the director of Dilan said that Beni and his E30 was inspired by Boy and his E30.
