Agreed - imdb says Dumfries and Galloway (where they make your favourite beer if I remember correctly) but I was wondering about somewhere small in the Highlands (though not sure where) - the blurred sign on the bin lorry could be Highland Council?? Can't read the placenames on the direction sign in a couple of the pics to settle it.

 Andy Goldsworthy lives in Scotland, and many pictures are settled there, but also in Canada, USA, France, etc...

 The village with the pink house is Penpont in Dumfries & Galloway - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Penpont,_Dumfries_and_Galloway.jpg . Some of the more isolated inland parts of D&G can look Highlandish.
