WWII somehow happens 15 years earlier just so the story can separate the main couple. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how this would even work, considering it was only a few years after the Treaty of Versailles was signed, and Hitler was in prison for the Beer Hall Putsch at the time.

Not to mention the implication on the world history of the next 100 years...
