youtube. Silly but catchy track from 1968 album Nancy & Lee which is better than many of these twee 60s duet collections, because despite looking like an unsuccessful double-glazing salesman, Lee Hazlewood was an excellent singer/writer and because it has the epic track Some Velvet Morning - even if the lyrics are twaddle, the song is magnificent. The T-bird pulls up at the end of the film, and the driver says "Hi Sis, you wanna lift?", which presumably makes him Frank Sinatra Jr.. Note: there's a video of Summer Wine - another track from Nancy & Lee - floating about on youtube using the same footage, but it's a bodged lash-up as the sync is all over the place. Good song though. |

A pleasant change from the usual music video choices that are uploaded, I wanted to listen to this and the rest of their output on YT. I'd also forgotten how cute Nancy was. |

I'm discovering for the first time how good Lee Hazlewood's own stuff is over the decades, but it also looks as if Nancy's 1990s/2000s solo stuff is well worth investigating (example 1, example 2). |
