![]() Film set in Orkney (various locations) and Edinburgh by Orkney-born director, Margaret Tait - her only full-length film (see also this short - /movie_2105004-Caora-Mor--The-Big-Sheep.html ). Slow atmospheric film about bereavement - beautiful photography and some lovely detail of traditional Orkney folk with deliciously genuine accents - very much a personal tribute to capture the director's upbringing. But an imdb review comment "The plot is nearly non-existent...it has something to do with a family of slightly wacky women who have a tendency to drown, with some attempts to have an evil city/wonderful country seaside conflict, but the effect is extremely muddled" also has some truth. Rarely seen, but a copy has surfaced on youtube, although you have to sign in. A haunting film, but not for everyone, and not a lot of vehicular action. Background cars if anything interesting or identifiable: 1] Edinburgh 1950s/60s 00-11-50 ![]() ![]() Blue on right in 2nd thumb looks onscreen like Elf/Hornet 2] Edinburgh 1990s ![]() 00-50-49 Merc S class, plus unknown sporty hatch - Renault 19?? ![]() 01-01-11 Ford truck, unknown van. Plus some blurry moving traffic in Edinburgh near end of film - Omega Express livery Transit, blue Mitsubishi Lancer 5 door, red Peugeot 205 - but not worth captures. No K70s for ingo, but as a consolation: ![]() -- Last edit: 2016-07-16 17:34:48 |
