![]() 1977 made-for-TV biopic about Olympic track sprinter Wilma Rudolph, who overcame childhood polio to win three gold medals in the 1960 Olympics! Starring Shirley Jo Finney as Wilma Rudolph, Jason Bernard as Coach Temple, and Cicily Tyson and Joe Seneca as Wilma's parents, Blanche and Ed Rudolph. As an Olympic athlete in the early-'60s, her gold medal wins broke down boundaries for female and black athletes in general and helped elevate women's track and field in the U.S.. She is also seen as a pioneer for civil rights and woman's rights. Denzel Washington's film debut! ![]() The film ends detailing what became of those depicted as of 1977.
