As for the movie, if you ever wanted to see a Eugene Ionesco-type absurdist comedy with David Lynch-like visuals, this is your movie. Hilarious and creepy, mostly simultaneously. Set in an indeterminate period in an obviously indeterminate universe, it's mostly fun but it grinds to a halt for the final act and never recovers.
