The rest of the crewmen die before help can arrive and their ghosts wait at the plane's wreckage 17 years for their bodies to be recovered, the only way they'll be able to move on. Gripping stuff. One of the very first films of the '70s, airing the same day Tick, Tick, Tick was released in theaters. Based loosely on the story of the B-24 Liberator named Lady-Be-Good and her nine crewman, who disappeared in 1943 without a trace. Her wreckage was found in 1958 and it was discovered in 1960 that eight of the crew had attempted to trek across the desert to find help, only to die from the harsh conditions of the Libyan desert. The ninth crewman's body was never found. The majority of the wreckage remained at the site until August 1994 when it was taken to a base of the Libyan Air Force for safekeeping.
