Intriguing appearance of a Lanchester LD10 drophead coupé, and a Daimler of the British sort. https://www.dloc.org.uk/ld10 -- Last edit: 2024-10-04 16:49:54 |

I don’t agree with the other German here. It’s a good movie to have fun with, unless you like Nazis a lot. |

Huge anachronism spotted in the harbor scenes of Santa Isabel (Fernando Po) and Palma. The production team utilized a post-war East German (GDR) Robur Garant truck as a background prop for the 1941 setting. The vehicle is prominently visible throughout the entire sequence where Heinrich Luhr (Til Schweiger) is introduced and operating in the harbor. You can clearly track it across multiple shots and angles at the following timestamps:00:30:11 (First appearance in the background during Luhr's introduction)00:31:06 (Visible in the background scenery)00:31:44 (Another angle of the harbor setup)00:31:59 (In frame during the ongoing scene)00:32:34 (Still parked as a key piece of harbor dressing)The ultimate proof: Between 00:36:16 and 00:36:35, the camera gets close enough to completely eliminate any doubt: the original raised metal "GARANT" emblem / lettering is clearly visible on the side of the engine hood.Since Operation Postmaster took place in 1941, and the "Garant" branding was only introduced by the Zittau factory in July 1956 (following trademark disputes over the original "Phänomen Granit" name), this truck technically traveled 15 years into the past. It was likely sourced from local historic vehicle extras or prop suppliers during the film's extensive shoot in Turkey (Antalya/Bodrum). Fantastic spot!![]() |
