N90441, Douglas C-54 c/n 10348 built in 1944 for the US Army Air Force, converted to civilian DC-4 specifications after the war. Passed back and forth between owners and lessees in the United States and Israel (flew for American Airlines and El Al, among others) for a while before finally going to Brazil in 1956. Damaged beyond repair in a belly landing in Rio de Janeiro in 1968, scrapped in 1970. Link to "www.israelairlinemuseum.org" |
