That's what aimed to prove Kurt (now Curtis) Bernhardt, I suppose, on the basis of a novel co-written by Robert Siodmak. Ts-ts-ts, those Germans… They are straining to the extreme our suspension of disbelief. Rather vain effort, here, though Humphrey Bogart is good (showing some restrain). And if you want a real good taste of Sydney Greenstreet's abilities, have a look at Don Siegel's The Verdict (where Peter Lorre has a nice part to play, too).
