 The correct ratio is unknown too. I am not found any data about it. (According to pictures, 4:3 is too flat.)(edit: I mean pictures are too wide.)

 There aren't lots of standard ration, usually if you try 1.25 (very old movies), 1.33, 1.66, 1.77, 1.85, 2.35 you'll find one that fits better than the others.

 I am not sure about the original film's ratio, but I try 500 x 400 pixels (1.25), and I think it is correct for this pictures.
