If UK this is an early posh one - Sept 79 Chrysler SX matches rare colour and wheel trims - Link to "aws-cf.caradisiac.com" . I think other countries were similar. |

There's no mention of filming in NZ on the IMDB. Mountain scenes were filmed in the Italian Alps, on the Cinecitta backlot in Rome and inside the 007 Stage at Pinewood, so it would be logical to fake a New Zealand location in the UK. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everest_(2015_film)#Filming The film is set in 1996, so the selection of cars for this scene is a bit odd. -- Last edit: 2016-07-26 01:14:02 |

It is not so easy one with this pic. Suspect it could be customized or it is some special edition. The all black bumper was 1st to meet in special models in 1980/1981 (in UK in 1981 “Ultra” for example), then they started to use it in all models since 1983. Interesting detail are door frames around windows, they seem to be in body color – this excludes SX. Such body colored frames were still to meet in some versions after the 1983 facelift, but cannot find any model which would have front spoiler and non-black frames (BTW also front spoiler was not meet in pre-1983/84 cars). There was GB Horizon “Ultra 2” in 1984, it had same wheels, black bumper, front spoiler, but was silver and had mentioned black trim around windows. There was also similar “Sherlock” but except different window trim it also had different side decal… Maybe they found that cars available in the mid-90s would look too recent to give a historic feel to the scenes (on the other hand, there is roof of Discovery I in the far background - curious was it a prop too or just a real background car ![]() -- Last edit: 2016-07-26 17:39:39 |
