![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If this gets an ID, I will be impressed. A test rig to evaluate the durability of road surface treatments. Whatever this is - or was originally (a dead truck??) - it spends what's left of its life whizzing round a circular concrete arena. |

Found... An AEC chassis at the Road Research Laboratory. ![]() Link to "archive.commercialmotor.com" "This apparatus has been constructed primarily for the study of surface conditions, such as surface dressing, skidding and impact. It consists of a standard A.E.C. short-wheelbase chassis with the engine replaced by an electric motor. This is a prewar civillian type Matador chassis, no you cant tell from the photo but it is shown in an AEC Southall Gazette of the period. Nick, AEC Society archivist. |
