IMO, the Honda CRV is the best small SUV out there. It has received top ratings from Consumer Reports in reliability and fuel economy. But the new redesign is quite ugly, though. |

CR-V's are underpowered, not as economical as the Mariner and Escape and really, really ugly (2007+ ones). |

I don't care what you THINK about some of these cars (b/c you don't know everything), look at my profile I owned a 01 Escape and my company still has 5 04 Escape XLT's and they all have problems. not everything with the blue oval on it is "the best out there" :roll: |

It's not entirely relevant, but as far as I'm concerned, the best compact SUV is the Jeep Wrangler (it might be an unfair comparison since it's built to a very different purpose - it's terrible at anything most other compact SUVs are used for). |

In my opinion the "Best Full-Size SUV" is the Toyota Land Cruiser. Not necessarily because I own one, but because the vehicle has outstanding fit & finish quality and will go just about anywhere it’s owner wants to go… |

The Land Cruiser is out-classed in every category! The Land Rover Defender and Range Rover are better off road, the Land Cruiser is seriously overpriced (could get a Explorer Limited for under the price of a base model Land Cruiser), there are loads of better looking SUV's (first off the top of my mind is the 2007 Ford Excursion and the Taurus X), the Lincoln Navigator is more luxurious and better equipped and the Cadillac Escalade and Mercedes Benz GL-Class (?) are both made with better quality materials. |
