C'est une Ford Fairlane de 1958. Etonnant la forme des baguettes latérales. Elles devraient ressembler à celles que l'on aperçoit sur la Ford garée au fond. Probablement une interprétation personnelle du propriétaire qui à confié son véhicule pour le film... |

This is a Ford Fordor Town Sedan of 1958. The Fordor Town sedan , two door Club sedan and two door Club Victoria hardtop were an intermediate line ,priced between the Customs 300 and the Fairlanes 500.They had this typical factory standard inversed bullet shape side trim separating both colours , differing from the Fairlane 500 gold anodised slash on the rear quarter panel.I have never seen such a model in Europe , though the Town sedan and Club Victoria were listed in the Dutch catalogues. So some of these models could have been sold in Europe .Most 58 units seen here were Fairlane 500's , mostly hardtops and Custom 300's.The intermediate range could be powered by Ford's 223 cubic inch six of 145 horsepower or 292 cubic inch V8 of 205 horsepower.On a total of about 950000 US Ford units sold in 1958 , about 38OOO were of this range. The colour of this car driven by the Godfather , orange over black,is absolutely magnificent and makes our metallic grey modern cars just look dull ! |

Very nice, indeed...but we can't imagine such colours on nowadays cars...would you imagine a Cadillac CTS or a Mercedes S500 for ex.? |

Wow, what a beautiful car! I'm not a big fan of the '58 Ford's front ends, but this car looks too sexy to pass up! I have a 1:25 scale Edsel in that same color scheme. |
