I think that it is the coupé rather than the Saloon (P5B then?)

How can it be considered a coupé if it has 4 doors? In spite of what Rover calls it this seems odd to me..?

It's a P5. P5B only applies to the V8 3.5 l powered cars.

Probably because of the relatively coupe-like profile (compared to a regular P5), the same idea that gave us the Mercedes-Benz CLS.

We should change the other "3 Litre Coupe" listed as P5B then?

Only the 3.5 litre cars (saloon or coupe) are known as P5B. A 3 litre car (saloon or coupe) is a P5.

The P5 Coupe roof has been cut down 60cm lower that the Saloon version.

The French word 'Coupe' means 'Cut' and doesn't necessarily mean 'Two Door'.

But in French the definition of a "coupé" is either:
- closed car pulled by one or two horses, with four wheels and usually two seats; which body seems cut from the front
- two-door car with a sporty shape
(rough translation of the definitions found in French Academy dictionary)

Ok fair enough, when I first looked for the meaning of coupé, Google Translate simply said coupé meant "cut", since then I've found that the origin of the word "coupé" is; From the past participle of "couper" to cut, strike.

So while the word "cut" is somewhere in the explaination, I'm hoping to use that in reference to the lowered roofline.
I might just have to go with this, I need to tell them something when people say, 'That's not a coupe, it's got four doors'. (I'm referring, of course to my gorgeous Rover P5 Mk III Coupé)
