LHD and white sidelights so export spec. Blue is Deluxe. Classic very early Morris with cream grille and this flat blue. Also this red LHD Morris in same line

As far as I know there was never a Morris 850 export name, only Austin (and mainly for F). But interested if anyone knows different.

In my 1968 http://www.schwacke.de/ list the 850-version is named "Mini Export (de luxe), the Morris as well the Austin.

@dsl and other Morris mini minor experts. Kyosho has just released a model in these 3 launch colours. But on some online shopping sites, it says it's a 1964 model. Do you know if this is a mistake? It looks like a very early 1959 model to me.

^ Looks as if Kyosho were definitely intending to do a 59 launch spec across all 3 liveries. Have looked at more pics of the Kyosho trio and biggest clue is cream painted front grille - became chromed from Aug 61; also the various interior schemes with grey and highlights in body colour, the black-on-white speedo (reversed to white-on-black in Sept 64) and full valances without cut-outs (until Sept 64 or early 65). It's also got the long straight gear lever, which was replaced by cranked in Oct 60. The only hiccup I can spot is the wheel trim rings, which at launch were Deluxe only (and accompanied by over-riders) and have the later format with rounded perforations, replaced squarer perforations about 1962. Otherwise they look pretty well perfect for a 59 and I don't understand the listings as 64.

Excellent analysis! Thank you very much! I was unaware of the detail of the holes in the hubcaps, although it's such a small hole that I imagine it's an attempt to make it rectangular. On the other hand, I suppose the hubcaps could be bought as an option on the standard version.

The two trim ring styles - blue is early 59-61 with squared corners, red is 62+

Not a major advance in Mini design, but as far as I know applies across all the Mini family, in Britain at least.

I'm not up to speed on 1:18s or Kyosho Minis, but it look as if this trio is a brand new casting, replacing an earlier range of their 1:18s which look distinctly mis-shapen and blobby. The new ones look much better

Yes, I own a Kyosho Cooper S and a Traveller. Interestingly, the Traveller has a much better overall look and finish, with details such as the interior light and carpet being very detailed. The Cooper however, has a mediocre finish, totally out of keeping with the quality of a brand like Kyosho. Here are my 2 examples (somewhat damaged as I have owned them for more than 20 years, and when I was a kid I didn't take such a good care of my models)
