This is a an XB Falcon sedan, non pursuit patrol car as most pursuit vehicles were Chrysler Chargers coups. After the XT Falcon 500 in 1969-70 (last of the US American compact falcon sedans)(GTHO Phase I, using much the same smaller V8 engine supplied to Shelby & the Mustang by ford.) the XW Falcon in 1970(GTHO Phase II with Mustang muscles), XY Falcon 1971(GTHO Phase III with the Mustang shaker sticking out of the bonnet or hood) the new body shape (Phase IV GTO with 4 made for homogulation to race on Sunday, sell on Monday for racing in what is now called the V8 supercar racing, then stopped by the super care scare in the media of too much power!!!) was an XA Falcon in 1972 with white front indicators up beside the head lights then the XB in 1973 with front indicators below the bumper, then the XC Series 1 & 2 front indicators up beside the head lights, followed by the all new XD in 1981 (the plastic fantastic)with plastic fuel tank with a static problem and fibreglass bumpers etc... |

The classic blue oval ford badge re-appeared on the XC falcon series II for the first time in Australia on the Australian product along with the plastic grilled products of the Cortina, Escort & commercial range but not the premium range of Fairlane, LTD & Landure (LTD based 2 door Coupe now very rare to find ) with their own badge . |
