Would say a 1951 Hudson Super Club Coupe but with a 1952 grille.

So 1952 Hudson Super Club Coupe?

There was no Hudson Super in 1952. Their last year was 1951.

Then why did Atom say it had a '52 grille? :p

Uh... because the 1952 grille is different, they have rounded wraparound indicator housings as opposed to the smaller squared ones of the 1951s. This is identifiable as a 1951 Super due to the trim.

But there was no '52 Club Coupe, so how can it be a '52?

Because it's a 1951 Club Coupe with the grill from a 1952 Hudson?

Good analysis here.

The double side trim was used in 1950 and 1951 only and this clearly does not have a 1950 front.
(Although I suppose it is possible this COULD be a '50 Super with an entire 1952 clip, albeit unlikely.)

The 1951 and 1952 grilles were actually the same except for the '52 Pacemaker which had a year-ahead '53 grille.
As pointed out above however, the rounded edge turn signal housings came out for 1952, again except for the Pacemaker which had them a year ahead in 1951.
(Of course, this cannot be a Pacemaker which never had the double side trim in any year.)

The hood ornament is of the Super style, rather than the Commodore/Hornet design, which incorporated a triangle motif.

Sandie wrote Because it's a 1951 Club Coupe with the grill from a 1952 Hudson?

Well then, why didn't anyone say that?

Maybe you should have read atom's comment more carefully in the firstplace.

Atom did have this one pegged from post 1.
(Or perhaps more precisely "1951 Hudson Super Club Coupe but with 1952 turn signals.")

Hold everything.

Found this scene clip online and was treated to a rear view as well. The car clearly has Commodore/Hornet style trunk handle, tail lamps and rear window. (There in no Hornet rear emblem however.)

I believe this is a 1951 Commodore with 1952 front signals and a Super style hood ornament.
So listing, pending dissent.

1951 Super Six coupe. No Super Eight that year. 1951 correct side trim, correct small caps, taller grille ornament correct for 1951 (would be shallower on 1952-53), 1951 Super hood spear, 1952-53 large series parking light housings. If rear view reveals Commodore tail lights, they are common aftermarket addition. So 1951 S6.

Not only did it have the Commodore tail lamps, it also had the Commodore rear trunk handle design as well. I supposed that could also have been substituted, though.
But why not a Commodore with a Super hood ornament and hubcaps?
