I thought it was anything between 1959 and 1965. Anyway, this limo driver chauffer drives these prim and proper ladies around, when he has to slam on his brakes for those cub scouts that escaped from the overheating green '65 Chevy Impala station wagon.![]() ![]() ![]() The ladies weren't wearing their seat belts. |

Interesting. The Caddy seems to have a '59 front but 1960 fins. |

Yes, it looks like a '59 with cut-down fins - the rear bumper looks like that year. I've seen photos of several Cadillacs and Imperials of that era that received that type of custom treatment, courtesy of wealthy owners who thought the fins were too big. Another case in point: the '58 Caddy limo in The Gnome-Mobile. http://pics.imcdb.org/0is208/gnomemobile59gu8.7941.jpg |

And the driver's hat turns 90° as he brakes.... -- Last edit: 2014-09-10 16:22:03 |

There were no seat belts back then. |

Well, tell that to the makers of this movie. |

Seat belts didn't become mandatory in the U.S. for passenger cars until 1968, a year after this film was made. Hard to believe that there was a time when seat belts weren't required for cars. |

Survival rate in automobile accidents weren't very high back then even though the cars were built almost like tanks. |

Seat belts are still not a requirement in UK for cars built before Ist January 1965. My 1953 Bentley has no seat belts. |

In Norway, wearing a seat belt wasn't mandatory until 1979, yet all new cars were fitted with seatbelts since 1971. |
