You have a sharp eye, but you were fooled by the facts! ![]() Smiths is a producer of speedometers, like Jaeger or VDO, and widely used in Britain. ![]() I cannot say if there are connections to the Smiths company that produces milk floats. Anyhow this is a Morrison Electricar, model D1, if I am not mistaken, from the mid to late 1960s. It is in the (modern) livery of Express Dairy. |

This episode was quite unusual, as household milk delivery and electric milk floats are very uncommon in Ireland (well, in the last 20 years anyway). The milk on the float was from Dawn Dairies, who sell milk nationally here (part of the Kerry Group). |

D6 actually. D1 was from the 1950s. |

I saw this episode, a disgruntled ex-milk man put a bomb on the milk float and said that the bomb would go off if the float goes below four miles per hour. -- Last edit: 2016-11-21 00:17:39 (G-MANN) |

This episode came to be when the producers asked themselves "How can we make a worse sequel to Speed than Speed 2?" ergo, bomb on a milkfloat that'll blow if its speed drops below 4 mph/6.4 kph. Hence why the driver looks so tense. -- Last edit: 2021-05-01 19:21:02 |
