Has Syrian taxi license plate. It was a Syrian border taxi that was part of a fleet of 1970s American Mopar cars and they were used on traveling to Lebanon or Jordan from Syria. Here's 2 examples of them: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/p/m/1043ad/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/hubbers/414988292/ -- Last edit: 2015-07-18 04:27:04 |

In 1991 I travelled four times from Amman to Damascus and return using such cars (a white '70 Coronet, a silver '73 Coronet, a burgundy '75 Coronet, and a very strange Volvo 245 with long wheel base with syrian plate. I loved so much those places and people and I am very sad about what is happening over there...!!! -- Last edit: 2013-09-05 23:46:21 |

I too am still very heartbroken on the ongoing civil war that's destroying Syria, a unique place where I spent most of my childhood. Things there have gotten so bad lately, that I can't bear watching the news about it anymore. ![]() |

the same for me. I feel sometimes selfish to do so, but I cannot do anything. I just speak with my pupils a lot about the problems of the Middle East avoiding too political matters but letting them watch movies as this one or other like for instace "Encendies" about Lebanon, too. |

There's not much I can do either other than donate to charity on helping Syrian refugees. It's good that you are keeping your students informed on the Middle East, better to be informed rather than be an uniformed imbecile. |
