This is not a 1951, but a 1952+ because of the redesigned instrument panel (facia) and the lack of a badge above the grill. The four door versions of the Consul and Zephyr Six sold in Sweden was only manufactured in Dagenham, England, but assembled as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) in Stockholm, Frihamnen. As such they got the suffix STX. Please note that this was not sold as just a Ford Zephyr, but as Ford Zephyr Six (The later way to denote it as Mark I was introduced from 1957 when the Mark II came. Also; It was never called anything other than "Zephyr Six", spelt with letters AND NOT NUMBERS, the "Zephyr 4" and "Zephyr 6" was only used on the Mark III models.) That is a 1952+ Ford Zephyr Six [EOTTA-STX], made in England, assembled in Sweden. Here's a link (in Swedish) http://www.nyteknik.se/nyheter/it_telekom/allmant/article231302.ece . -- Last edit: 2012-05-02 15:13:38 |

So all Zephyr 6 mk1 & 2 should be renamed to Zephyr Six? |

The Zephyr Six name was only in use for the Mark I model, while the Mark II neither had the "Six" nor a "6" written anywhere. The reason why it was introduced on the Mark III models in 1963 is that the Consul name, earlier used for the four cylinder versions of basically the same body (slightly extended front for the Zephyr and Zodiac to get more room for the longer engine), was that Ford choose to widen the product flora with the Consul 375, the Consul Capri, the Consul Cortina and the Consul Corsair. But they still wanted to have a four- and a sixcylinder version of the bigger body. Hence the "Zephyr 4" and the "Zephyr 6". -- Last edit: 2012-05-02 13:17:03 |

As ^ this only applies to Mk1. As I understand it, all [EOTTA] Zephyrs should become Zephyr Six, apart from Zephyr Zodiacs which stay as they are. At the moment we have some as just Zephyr [EOTTA] and some as Zephyr 6 [EOTTA]. Have tidied up Zephyrs and EOTTA to give this /search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&make=Ford&model=EOTTA&modelMatch=2&modelInclChassis=on which should have every Mk1 EOTTA entry, but too many for me to contemplate manually updating each one. So can it be block updated, but without affecting the Zephyr Zodiacs at the end of the list? |

So you mean that all that list should become "Zephyr Six mkI", except those listed as "Zephyr Zodiac" ? |
