This is not a 1952 DeSoto but a 1951 DeSoto DeLuxe 8 passenger ( S-15-1).1951 DeSotos as here had a DeSoto head hood ornament DeSoto name written in graphic letters and long teeth. 1952 DeSotos had a false airscoop on the hood , the name DeSoto was written in block letters and the grille teeth were smaller. |

Not quite right. Not all 1952 Desotos had the airscoop. Some models continued with the Desoto head ornament. I believe it had to do with the engine application. You are correct about the front nameplate, however. Changing to 1951 as the subject car carries the scripted nameplate. -- Last edit: 2011-12-28 14:50:59 |
