KV has a very different looking front (if Google image search is any indication)

Both cab designs are listed as KV

Cross checked using ERF Historic Vehicles Register

Thanks for that info!

I wonder if there are visible differences between LV and KV then. It seems odd that, like the Historical Vehicles database suggests, ERF would offer the LV and KV platforms with both new and old body styles.

I am attempting to find out more. Unless anyone already has detailed information on the various ERF cab designs particularly from the 1950s onwards?

The ERF Historic Vehicles website has some history but reading that in conjunction with the gallery of the trucks is not clear at the moment to me.

I doubt the vehicle register has errors but its not impossible I guess and the differences in the cab designs and the trucks would be good to know.

I always thought this was the LV ( and an unscientific search by putting ERF LV into google images seems to back this up ) and the KV was the older coachbuilt cab with oval shaped radiator .

I asked flickr user E-R-F, and for what it's worth he said:

Hi,

The vehicle is an LV with a cab built by JH Jennings of Sandbach. It is a cab type LV/JL.

The operator of this vehicle was Corn Products Ltd.

All posters on the thread would be advised to ignore the ERF Historic Vehicles Register. It is very flawed with errors on correct ERF model types I'm sorry to say.

Hope this helps.

Gawd - you would think if one site should have its ERF models right it would be the them!
