Behind the R5 is a maroon Peugeot 404. Similar in other shots in Aus locations, so this set and SM may not be on home turf.

This is a Melbourne street with CG alterations. Image 50 on http://www.visualhollywood.com/movies_2011/killer_elite/photos_onset/index.html is a behind the scenes shot of the same location, with the colonne Morris (advertising column) in the same place under the canopy. In other behind the scenes photos, you'll see shops dressed with sale posters in rotten French ("50% VENTE"). :)

This scene was filmed in Little Collins Street, Melbourne, Australia - My maroon Peugeot 404 (1969) in this photo was used in a few scenes in the film. It is meant to be a Paris metro scene.

Not made for Australia, because it's left hand drive.

All SM were LHD when they left the factory. There were optional local RHD conversions with Citroen approval in some markets - in UK this was done by Middleton Motors of Potters Bar, but only emerged just before SM withdrawn so only 3 cars done here and all otheres sold as LHD. For Aus, seems more complicated because new LHD car sales seem to have been prohibited, so SM not officially listed. But 5 cars were sold new with Citroen-approved RHD conversions by Chapel Engineering (Victoria).

So this LHD car should be a recent import .....

Yes it was imported 10 years ago. LHD from the USA. Fully rebuilt in Oz, regrettably without the RHD conversion offered at the time. On set, the engine was left idling by the production company so long, that it was returned buggered. Destroyed something in the head. No liability, it's a risk to loan a car. Anyway, after ordering an entire rebuilt engine from the USA, the car is a dream. The original engine is still in the shed and can fixed rather easily, as it turns out, if you don't listen to "classic Citroen specialist mechanics".

@nomoreroom - with info like that, you must be the owner?? Glad it's still around and being enjoyed after its filming misadventures. Any pictures of it on set or today??
