I think the Cee´d is a good car. You don´t hear any complaints. And the styling is not bad, either.

Ingo DE

2011-08-09 22:54

The styling is the best example for dull and faceless. It's a terrible mixture of a lot of elements from different brands - but definetely nothing unique. Just a cobbled patchwork-something.

Sandie SX

2011-08-09 22:56

Yes but nearly everything is like that these days. Apart from the ones where the designer is a raving lunatic.

I would agree with that (if google translate is accurate). Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

At the end of the day as far as I am concerned the most important thing is how it goes. If the performance is acceptable, the comfort good and the reliability decent then I'm happy with it. It's only if it looks as bad as a Nissan Juke when I would be put off something by it's styling.

Agree'd (as long as it's not the 3 door with the dungeon-like rear seating).

Of yeah, because the SAAB 9000 has a very unique design. It doesn't look at all like a Lancia Thema or a Fiat Croma. ;)

The 9000 has a typical square 80s design, not as stylish as the 900, but it's more about pedigree than looks. ;)

I don't know why everybody is picking on the Juke, it's a cool, mean and unique design. If I was to buy a brandnew car by it's design only I would pick the Juke any day! But I'd guess it's hip these days to think that the Juke is ugly *yawn*.

It's also hip these days to think the world is round, that gravity makes things drop to the ground, that lead water pipes are dangerous, and that human sacrifices do not guarantee good weather.

Sandie SX

It's probably hip to like the Juke. Unfortunately I'm too busy still living in the nineties (or on a bad day the eighties) to notice.

I like the Juke, too. The design is not normal, but it looks quite funny and here in Germany it´s quite popular actally. You can order it with a lovely 190 HP engine. But I don´t want to have one, as it hasn´t got much room in the back and in the boot. Furthermore the suspension is quite harsh.

Sorry Exiv96, this was a "grasp in the loo" for you, to translate literally a German saying :o All the Saab-freaks, I know (from outside of IMCDb) have all the strict opinion, that the 9000 is not an acceptable Saab any more. for them it's not acceptable at all! It's only a Fiat with an Opel-engine neither in technical or optical belongings any kind of unique Saab-ish. It's seen as a nail in the coffin of Saab, the first reason for the recent collapsing. These Saab-freaks are using a 9000 only as a cheap winter-car for saving the real Saabs for good weather.

I quite like the 9000 and indeed the 900/93s which came afterwards (even though they were pretty much rebodied Vauxhalls) as they still had something about them. They definitely put them together much better than their siblings. I still see a number of c20 year old 9000s going round. I haven't seen a Croma, Prisma or Alfa 164 in years.

Yes, but if something is good, many people will like it. Who hears good things about something and say something along the lines of "Okay, I won't buy [insert thing here] if you say it is good." Who? That defies all logic. Thats like "I don't believe in going to a hospital, so I will not take you to a hospital."

Ok, so what is so good about Juke?

m.pfaffeneder DE

2011-08-11 00:02

@Nightrider: It hasn´t got an ordinary design, the engines are good (above all the turbocharged engine with 190 hp) and you get a very well equipped car for its price. Actually it isn´t such a good car, cause it hasn´t got so much space in the back and in the trunk. Furthermore its suspension is quite harsh. But in my opinion it is a refreshing car here in Germany.

They are people who want to have a car which doesn´t stand on every corner. They like it´s curious design. Also the high driving position is important. Mainly singles or couples buy the car.
