Zastava hatch based on 128. 101 - or other name used in I? Unusual for Italy? |

Few were imported by small importers with the original name (Zastawa S 101) |

It indeed reminds 1977/78 101 S (Super), except side slats, which were more typical for "Confort" I think. So it was called in different order - "S 101" - in Italy due to Peugeot? |

In Holland they were sold as 1100 (indeed because of Peugeot claim of x0x). Don't know how they were called in Italy, though. |

Could be a Slovenian car... Trieste is located almost on the confine between Italy and Slovenia |

Of course it was still Yugoslavia then. |

Strange...I don't think so that Zastavas were exported to Italy.Maybe it's external car,par exemple from France or Yugoslavia...Or,if Zastavas were saled in Italy,I think,only as Fiat,par exemple like in Finland http://img426.imageshack.us/img426/1853/zastava1100z02tr9.jpg http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/6190/zastava1100z04tn5.jpg as Fiat 1100Z or 128Z(info from serbian site Zastava Fan Club).So I think,that's Zastava 101 C (Confort/Comfort) -- Last edit: 2011-05-16 19:56:00 |

As Neon said, Trieste is right next to the Slovenian border - or, as it was when this film was made, the Yugoslavian border. I suggest deleting "made for I" since there's a very strong possibility that it's a visitor from across the border. -- Last edit: 2011-05-16 19:52:00 |

Not officially imported but a very small company "Autograziella" in Turin imported for a short while both Zastavas 101s and Seat 133 series II in Italy. I suspect the number was very very low, let's say 50 or less for both but I actually don't know more. It is much more possible that this is the case of a Yugoslavian visitor in Italy. I often saw a Zastava 750 Painted in Yellow in the late 70s and early 80s in Turin. -- Last edit: 2018-02-11 16:48:56 |
