I saw this on Youtube and cringed. A beautifully preserved survivor, needlessly annhilated. Not many people bothered to save Pintos and this one was mint.Shame on you. This is why i wont pay to see movies. I dont want my money funding the destruction of clean vintage cars. -- Last edit: 2011-05-05 08:01:32 |

I think at that time, they were afraid to get these used Pinto due to defective gas tank at the rear. Hence the last two thumbnails -- Last edit: 2011-05-05 13:37:03 |

I think the explosion here was set. Just about every car in the chase exploded. I think they intentionally used a Pinto as a joke to see if anyone, like CougarTim, would even notice and catch on to the irony.I think they had explosives set up in it like the apparently did most of the cars.Didnt the Dodge Magnum blow up, too? |

Just about every car in the movie was rigged to blow ... intentionally. The beautiful Ava Fabian who plays a psychotic trigger-happy b!tch in the movie, has a remote control which sets off car bombs all over their escape routes. Examples of these cars are the Dodge van, the Eldorado Biarritz, the Dodge Magnum, yes, and the Cavalier Wagon. Of course, the Caprice Classic, the Pinto and Datsun 510 wagon are all examples of cars that blew up just because they'd been crashed into. Fabian and her crime partners are so cunning that they can even manage to blow up any car they want to ![]() |

You're welcome to present us the pictures, when it will happen to you. O.k., maybe a bit tricky to handle the camera fast enough in that situation. |

This reminds of the Pinto scene from Final Destination 2 for some reason. |

That's a good point. But I noticed something. While the huge fireball was indeed set up, you can see a trail of fire form after the collision. This capture shows it. -- Last edit: 2017-02-04 08:22:49 |
