Basic size, styling cues & a leaf sprung rear suspension would indicate a later 60's or very early 70's US Ford or Chrysler product to me. |

Looks to be either a Ford Pinto or Maverick. |

Not a Pinto. It looks like it has a trunk and the back is too long. Also, the rear pillar looks too thin. The back resembles that of a 1966 Falcon, but again, the size of the rear pillar throws me off. |

hiergehts points out the suspension. I wouldnt know. But his point about the styling cues resembling a Ford seem valid. It looks like it has a trunk that slopes downwards very slightly. Falcons had that, as did the Galaxie/Custom 500 line.Fairlanes,too.But again, the rear pillar is too thin and the shape of the side-rear window doesnt match.Granted, the roof is partially damaged, but still,it doesnt seem to match. |

I'd say GM-product, too. |

Shape of front hood and -fender makes me think that, too. Has something from the Opel Manta A. |

seeing as the film is from 1977 and the car is completely used up,It would have to be REALLY early 70s.The US-Manta started as the 1971 opel 1900 series, but I still think the back on this looks a bit longer.Of course, this damaged and from this kind of angle, dimensions can be deceiving. -- Last edit: 2011-04-28 03:04:47 |

Looks like a Nova to me (1968-72 years) |

Looks like enough there to identify it as a '71-'72 Ford Maverick. -KK |

I'm going to put my vote in for 1970+ Ford Maverick. It looks like it has the crease around the wheelwells and just below the front fender badge: Link to "3.bp.blogspot.com" |

Definetely not, the Rekord C had no leaf springs at the back axle, as this car here. |
