I think 1100. But what's the difference between 1100 and 1200? |

1200 was used for the upgraded 1000 Coupé from 1968 models. On the US-market the 1100 was called 1204 and used the same engine base as the 1200 S Coupé. At the same time the Simca 1000 was upgraded with the 1100 engine and called 1118 on the US-market. |

1100 is the generic name of the car...because the engine was 1118cc. For 1969 a 944cc engine from the 1000 was added to the range. One year later appeared the "Special" with a 1204cc 2 carbs (the 1200S coupe engine). In 1971, the "Special" received a new engine, a 1294cc. Sportiest model of the range, the "TI" appeared in july 1973, with a 1298cc engine with 2 double barrel carbs. This engine is the same as the famous "Simca 1000 Rallye2". As DAF555 said, they received different name for some market. The 1100 assembled by Chrysler-Barreiros in Spain were fiited with 1204 and 1294cc engine only and were named 1200... |
