Neptune ◊ 2011-03-01 05:56	If it’s a 1987 model, then it’s classed as an R-10, not C-10. C-Series (rear-wheel drive) was renamed R-Series whilst K-Series (all-wheel drive) was renamed V-Series for 1987 only concerning 2-door pickups; however, 4-door pickups and the utilities kept the R/V alphanumeric names up until the 1991 model year when they ceased production. 1987 is a special model year for the rounded-line truck generation, not only for the odd name change, but also for the addition of computer controlled electronic throttle-body fuel injection (TBFI), electronic ignition controls, and updated electronic engine management. All gas/petrol engines saw a boost in horsepower and torque output for 1987. atom wrote Ep. 1: In the thumbnail capture the small rectangular emblem is seem on the rear access doors. It reads "fuel injection". That small emblem is also the only visual indication that this is no ordinary rounded-line.

Neptune ◊ 2011-03-01 16:42	What looks like a C on the fender badge is really the "sunburst" logo, its also seen on the inside of the cabin on the passenger side of the dash where the trim level name is also stamped. atom ◊ 2011-03-24 16:00	I have never seen an American car with specially made plate openings for our market, I'd guess that we are a too small market for that. I not sure what you mean with "fitted in later", by the importer or by the dealer? This vehicle was sold new in Sweden after all.

You have to remember, tonkatracker, that when Volkswagen Beetle were delivered to USA from Germany without headlights from the assembly line to the shore, they fitted with sealed beam headlights with the assembly in before selling to our market. Same idea with some of cars without components for local assembly meeting their local legal requirement.
