Agree that karoomay's link is the same; besides it gives a better view. Compare 3rd photo in link with, e.g., /vehicle_269505-Volkswagen-Super-Beetle-Typ-1-1973.html and you will find it has the smaller rear window and not the 1972+. You can just see the knob for Wash/wipe behind the spoke, so I guess the steering wheel hae been changed. http://www.1302super.com/pcat_02_03/038.jpg |

Why should the steering wheel be changed? This is the 1972+ version (1973+ at the Typ3, 1974+ at the K 70) and the -ugly primitive- metallen handle for the indicators/flash light (on the left, wiper/washer is on the right) is the original, too. You cannot mount this four-spoke steering wheel on the old steering column and you cannot use the old handles and wirings either, because all of it was completely changed, when this steering wheel was introduced. |
