Country of origin is Russian Empire, not USSR. Probably Руссо-Балт (Russo-Balt) К-12/20 Торпедо (I think cca 1914/15) Four-engined bomber in the air is early РБВЗ Илья Муромец (RBVZ Ilya Muromets). They are products of the same factory, RBVZ (РБВЗ, Русско-Балтийский вагонный завод), Russo-Baltic Carriage Factory from Riga, but the car was build in Riga and airplane in Petrograd (St. Petersburg) at the RBVZ Aviation branch (Авиационный отдел РБВЗ). As the person in the left back seat of a car looks a lot like Major-General Mihail V. Shidlovsky (Михаил Владимирович Шидловский), commanding officer of the Flotilla of Flying Ships (EVKI, only unit equipped with Ilya Muromets bombers) since December 1914 and till then RBVZ Chairman of the Board and his Staff car appears quite new, I guess car is from last, 5th Series. -- Last edit: 2011-01-12 09:44:57 |
