G297 COO was a works Sierra Cosworth 4x4 used in the 1990 WRC season in Group N (standard road spec), driven by Gwyndaf Evans. Rally plate on bonnet suggests this could be the RAC Rally GB, when Evans finished 11th and won Group N with #35. However the Argentina bonnet and screen stickers may mean this is the same car during the 1991 season, often driven by Carlos Menem Jnr (son of the Argentine President) and in the 1991 RAC he retired after a crash on the 1st stage in car #40 (registration unknown). He died in a helicopter crash in 1995, which may explain why he is included here.

This period when world leaders sent their sons off to do motorsport was short-lived. At least Carlo Menem Junior was moderately successful - unlike Mark Thatcher who became a standing joke and never recovered any credibility. If only George Bush the first had done something similar with his son.
