It's a 1934 Phantom II, chassis #15RY. The body is not by Binder, as was thought for ages. Historians John Fasal and Tom Clarke reckon that the Raja of Jodhpur transferred the Barker body which was on his Silver Ghost 73ZG and had 1930s wings built locally. Of course, period photos of 73ZG support this theory. The rear of the body and the scuttle were reworked to fit the RR bonnet and chassis: the car was delivered to India in rolling chassis form. -- Last edit: 2014-01-04 18:41:55 |
