Ingo ◊ 2009-05-29 23:34	O.k., than this T4 could (quite sure) be assembled there. It's quite unknown, that a local Taiwanese company assembles the T4. I don't know, if there are any differences - except the quality. My Japanese friend told me, that in Japan a buyer of a T4 looks very carefully, if it could be a Taiwam-made car, because their reputation is very bad.
Gag Halfrunt ◊ 2009-05-30 00:09	I just had a look at the Japanese Volkswagen website (http://www.volkswagen.co.jp/) and it appears that they don't sell the Transporter there. I suppose that LHD Transporters were being brought in as grey imports and some of them were from Taiwan.
Ingo ◊ 2009-06-02 12:19	@Gag: a few T4 were broght to Japan by the importer, some LHD, some RHD. But the had problems with the AC-Systems, overheating of the engine and the high price, compared with the Japanese vans. So an official import was stopped before the beginning. My friend owns now one of these pre-VW-owned T4. But for some unknown (unknown for me) reasons, there are Taiwan-made T4 for sale in Japan, too. But only a very few ones.
