Giaur (or some other Etceterini -- perhaps a Stanguellini or OSCA) is a possibility, but all Giaurs I've seen have been very low to the ground.

My guess would be a race-prepped Jowett Jupiter. The period is right as are the domed fenders, the flat edge to the trailing line of the trunk, the scuttle, etc.

The main things that make me think it's *not* are the head fairing, what appears to be a fuel filler low in the center of the trunk, and the appearance of the lack of seams where the fenders meet the trunk. All of those are conceivably explained away with enough modification, but there's probably a more elegant explanation.

A dark horse possibility is a Gatso.

My guess is the Gatso roadster (a 4000?). The Giaur has a lot of fasteners and seam detail that would have to be dealt with.
The Gatso has that hump in the middle taller than the fenders. The gas cap placement is the puzzle as it would fit the Giaur.
The seamless body could be a one off fiberglass anything. The Jowett is also possible but the center seam is missing.
