![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This silent travelogue of “Schley Ride to Puerto Rico (The 51st State?)”, a film in the series dubbed “Picturelogues” produced and directed by Norman E. Schley. This film covers a journey across the island of Puerto Rico starting in the capital of San Juan and proceeding to smaller towns and jungle areas portraying cities, beaches, agriculture, and historical attractions. This version of the film is silent, but most likely a sound version was produced at some point. Many of Schley's films aired on television, and some were also shown in front of a live audience, with Schley reading from a narration script as the film was projected. The film has two parts: Part 1 - North and Center of the island: San Juan, Barranquitas, Puerto Rican Jungle, Arecibo, Ramey Field, Aguadilla. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YMtMXKRTKc&t=5s Part 2 - West, South and East of the island: Mayaguez, Hormigueros, San German, Boqueron, Guanica, Yauco, Ponce, Guayama, Yokahú Tower, Fajardo, Luquillo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3GGDFYAUeU |

Ansaldo & C. Ownership of Swedish American Line / Svenska Amerika Linien (SAL). Sold to Karageorgis Lines in 1975, named MS Navarino. Bought by Regency Cruises in 1984, named MS Regent Sea. Sold to United States American Cruise Line in 1997, named MS Sea. Intended for conversion to a casino ship, which never completed due to bankruptcy of the new owner. In early 2001 the ship was sold for scrap and began a journey under tow to breakers in India. Sank in heavy seas off Algoa Bay in South Africa in July 2001. (*)Her (almost) sister ship MS KUNGSHOLM built in 1953 for SAL, was sold to North German Lloyd in 1965. Therefore we can suppose she couldn't sail under the Swedish flag at the year of the film (1967). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() TRENTON Wilmington Delaware No infos on history of this ship at the moment.
