And somehow, I don't think the one up front is a Custom 300. |

It does not appear to have the same fender ornaments that are found on the Galaxie |

Should be a base Fairlane four-door sedan, the Custom 300 had F O R D letters on the hood. The thumbnail shows more ornamentation on the trunk that does not appear on the car at left in the same image. -- Last edit: 2009-02-01 04:08:48 |

That's exactly why I didn't believe it was a Custom 300. And since the Fairlane seems to be acceptable, why don't we tag it as such? -- Last edit: 2009-02-02 05:06:31 |

I make the car on the left in the main image to be a Fairlane 500. I found this picture of a base-model Fairlane in all-too original condition: http://images.lemonfree.com/26611055_4.jpg Funny though, the wide chromed "V" on the rear decklid should have the Fairlane script above with the "500" set in the center of the "V" shape. Link to "www.chss.iup.edu" Even more strange is this car being sold as a Fairlane with a 3-speed column shift and Custom trim. http://www.classiccarmall.net/classified2-26086.htm -- Last edit: 2009-02-02 08:00:54 |

Sounds like an base model Fairlane to me, comments? |

I just need to know what the trim option is for that wide chrome "V" that normally contains the Fairlane 500 insignia. |

It maybe an extra piece of trim installed by the vehicles owner, It doesn't seem to be on the other car in small pic. |

Okay, base Fairlane. Now I can tell with certainty that there is no rear quarter panel stainess trim. (Fairlane 500 was top trim level at the start of the model year before the Galaxie 500 was introduced.) |
