Its an ex military Series 2A or, to be precise, a 3/4 Ton Rover 9 to give it the correct military name. Note that there is no fuel filler on the right hand side of the vehicle. This means it is fitted with twin fuel tanks with under seat fillers. Since military vehicles were given civvy numbers reflecting the year they were first registered for civvy use in the 1970's, this 1971 J registration suggests this is an earlier Rover 9, probably from 1962 or 1963. |
