Rolls-Royce? |

Looks like it - being WW1-era it would have to be a Silver Ghost circa 1915. Looks as if this was filmed on a set - it looks very artificial. |

Being the British film industry the car is anything that they could find at the time. I would agree that it looks like a 40/50 hp Rolls-Royce, the bi-block engine shows up in the LH thumb nail. The model ran from 1906 to 1925, the electric lighting that the car looks to have was not introduced until 1919. |

And being made under wartime conditions, of course. |

This is not a ghost. Wrong radiator, engine too short, wrong fuel tank............ |

I thought it might be the Wolseley 15hp made grimy. While the front of the car looks pretty similar, the opening windscreen looks more evenly proportioned on the film set wilderness car. |

A Wolseley looks to be most likely. This 1919 Wolseley 16/20hp Five-seat Tourer could almost be the same car I think. Front and engines compared, a strong similarity. -- Last edit: 2019-02-24 12:54:14 |
