TWO SIMILAR, BUT DIFFERENT YEAR, AUTOS WERE USED IN PRODUCTION.

A 1941 model used for location filming in Boston.(see main photo), the other, a 1942 was used in California.

There are minor differences in the cars; the side vertical grills on the '41 car (see main image above) were deleted for 1942 and thin horizontal grilles were added. See the photo from episode 7 showing the '42 grille.

Also notice in the front view from ep. 7, the 1942 car also car lacks the large driving lights as seen in the main photo and the different placement of the license plate.

I would expect the interior shot is of the '42 auto since the scenery looks more like California than Boston.

The 1941 car, chassis # 14292014, now a burgundy color, was sold by RM Sotheby's in 2017 for $407,000.
In 2019 it was again sold by RM Sotheby's sale in Monterey, California for $373,500.

One of approximately 35 convertibles with the custom Darrin body built in 1941.

The other Packard used in the series was a 1942; chassis # 15292013.
It is now also painted burgundy like its TV twin.
It sold for $209,000 in #3+ condition (1 being perfect) by RM Sotheby's in October, 2024.
In 2008 it sold for $330,000 at an RM sale.
A collector car magazine attributed the most recent relatively low sale price to its aging and less than perfect restoration (said to date to the late 1990s) rather than a drop in value of the model.
