Mk3. Essex plate - probably factory publicity car. |

xxx HOO was March-June 63. I'm perplexed by the reference to lady elephant bits - is it the sunroof (which is unusual - I don't think a factory option, but an outside conversion, perhaps officially approved)?? |

Perhaps it's only called that in Swedish ![]() |

Must be an interesting conversation in the showroom, especially when you've just ordered lambs wool carpets and leopard skin upholstery. |

Wild punt towards goal from the halfway line - I wonder if it's a Zodiac by Hooper - announced at 62 Motor Show with behind-the-scenes Ford support, very luxury interior, 13 made. Can't find much info online - there's a 2013 resto vid of one as a bare bodyshell, but shows a full-length sunroof hole; also a detail rear photo of a blue one with a reversing light in the trim strips which this one doesn't have. But this one has shiny deep paint, the sunroof, is probably product placement somehow, and maybe the HOO plate represents more than just a normal Ford reg but also signifies Hooper?? Can't pursue this any further, but after a glass of Scottish moon juice, I've nearly convinced myself .... |
