This is a cycle pacing machine - probably from very early 20th century. I think many of these were one-offs. They had quite big engines compared with typical motorcycles of the time. |

The reason the big guy is standing is to allow the kid to draft him. Agree...100% custom "Pacing" bike. Looks like it has a Harley, Indian, Reading Standard or THOR motor but it could have been anything, really. A lot of these had a large rear fairing to allow racers to draft. This guy was big enough to do it standing. Comical picture... |
