By the front grille, the chrome wipers and shape of the bonnet badge it's an early MkIII ( 1970+ [ADO20] ). Since it seems there's no chrome trim in the windscreen seal, I would say it's a 850. Minis were assembled in New Zealand ( Auckland ) until October 1976, so this must be one of them. |

The registration plate IZ6393 would suggest about 1976 or 77. I must check my DVD of Goodbye Pork Pie - that plate looks familiar! |

Just checked the pic of Goodbye Pork Pie on this site - I am sure that the plate number is the same. That is not a genuine plate on this car though - it probably got damaged during filming of Pork Pie! According to the script of that movie the car is 1978. I know that the Mini was sold here through to at least 1981 but I am not sure of the last date of local assembly. I see from IMDb that this movie was shot Ashburton - about an hour's drive from where I live. -- Last edit: 2008-02-11 10:32:51 |

http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=iz6393 says its a 1978 Leyland Mini 1000 |

Should Leyland be removed from the name? I think that other similar ones don't have 'Leyland' in the name, just 'Mini'. /vehicle_35822-Mini-1000-1977.html |
